R-Drive Image 4.6

R-Drive Image is a program for creating disk image files. The wizard interface makes everything simple.

We can create an image, restore it, and do a 1:1 copy of a disk. The program uses “arc” file extension and supports encryption. We can even mount the image of the drive as a logical disk in Windows. We can use the program to check the image file and recover undamaged data.

The Scheduler can be used to set time to backup disks. Thus it saves our time as we don't have to be in front of the computer and wait for a backup being made.

This new version has increased support for file systems other than FAT and NTFS. It can also handle bad sectors of a disk and restore valid data from a corrupted drive. Support for Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) has also been included. The program has advanced features, like the creation of bootable CD/DVDs, so that we can restore an entire system including the system drive. Thus it easily makes the setup of the same OS in different computers.

I liked the program, as it is good looking and easy to use. The backup operations are very fast. The program could detect my dynamic disks and GPT disks including the hidden ones. It runs fine on 64-bit systems and, of course, you need to be an administrator to use the program.
